New Tensile Test Machine
In order to benefit even more our customers, at Elebia we have installed a 50 tonne tensile test machine. The addition of this machine means that any of our lifting solutions can be accountable for a series of tests, including:
· Load cell calibration:
Any of our lifting solutions which carry a load cell, with a capacity of up to 50 tonnes, can be calibrated in-house.
· Proof load testing:
Proof load tests can also be performed on our lifting equipment. These tests are designed to ensure that the piece of machinery being tested is able to lift the designed load without failure or deformation. The proof load test is considered a complementary test that provides structural and safety assurances. In Europe, the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC section 4.1.2.3 addresses the static and dynamic tests that must be performed on all lifting equipment whilst in North America, ASME B30.20 is the standard for below-the hook lifting devices.
· Break force or break strength:
Under UNE-EN 1677-2:2001 + A1:2008, break force (or strength) can also be tested on our products The breaking strength of a material is the maximum amount of tensile stress that the material can withstand before failure, such as breaking or permanent deformation.
